Regional All-Star Tournaments and the High School All-American Pathway

BOULDER, Colo. -- USA Rugby is excited to announce the new pathway to becoming a High School All-American. Players looking to become a High School All-American must attend one of the seven Regional All-Star Tournaments (RASTs) being held around the country. Each of these premier tournaments will play host to some of the top high school rugby around the nation. Not only will there be a weekend full of exceptional rugby but each RAST’s location will give attendees ample opportunity to explore the surrounding areas.
Boys and girls enrolled in high school for the 2012-2013 academic year are eligible to play in these tournaments. If interested they should inquire within their home state’s rugby organization about joining an all-star or travel team that will be attending one of the RASTs.
USA Rugby Selectors will be at each RAST. These selectors will be scouting for both the Boys HSAAs and the new Girls HSAA team. Many states will be sending both a Junior Varsity - freshmen and sophomores - and Varsity - juniors and seniors – team to these tournaments. The top 50 boys and the top 50 girls selected will be invited to the first annual High School All-American Stars vs. Stripes camp held at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.
