Local Clubs merge

Santa Clara youth rugby has now merged with Silicon valley Rugby.
Santa Clara who held club from u8-u14 will  not be a direct feeder for Silicon valley who is only a u19 club. this is great news for those of us local and who know better that in this day and age in order for rugby clubs to survive past a certain point in there life there has to be a established youth system to feed into.

"Motivated by a shared philosophy and approach to coaching youth rugby, Silicon Valley Rugby (SVRFC) and Santa Clara Youth Rugby (SCYR) have merged. As a high school club, Silicon Valley RFC was looking to expand down into the middle school division. At the same time, Santa Clara Youth Rugby was looking to expand up into the middle school division. The result - a single, continuous club rugby experience from kindergarten through high school!

Rest assured, the coaches from both clubs are continuing in the same capacity they had with their previous teams. Administratively, we will be using the SVRFC name for branding purposes while leveraging the SCYR charter and financials. For now, the older divisions will wear red and the younger divisions will wear blue. "
