(SF Bay Area) College/Mens club weekend games 2/22/13

College:

College rugby throughout the SF bay area has been good and bad throughout the season. Cal has been blowing out teams left and right and Stanford has been nothing but a dud. Santa Clara has notched some good wins and San Jose state is in good position to finish in the top three of their conference.

San Jose states are sitting at a 2-1 record and have scored 124 points and has only given up 62. There next opponent is one who also is seeking a top finish this year. Chico state and san Jose state are the only teams who have scored over 100 points in three matches so far in there conference and Chico state is sitting at 3-0. The only undefeated team. San Jose state only loss came against bitter conference rivals Santa Rosa college and with only 4 games left they will most certainly have to be perfect is they want to finally seek the promise land and enter the playoffs.

San José state: vs Chico state, KO 1Pm D-1AA

Cal has been nothing but perfect thus far. Recent matches against BC for the opening of WORLD CUP matches has been the only close game so far for Cal, 28-18 win. This week Cal travels down to play UCLA in the second round of PAC play.

Stanford is on a 5 game losing streak that reaches into pre-season play. This week they travel down to San Diego State. To take on the Aztecs who will give them nothing but a handful.

Men’s:

Three of the top men’s teams in the bay area are in action this weekend. SFGG will travel up to the state capitol to take on Sacramento lions. So far SFGG has coasted through league play this year, with elite cup games not far off they could be in good to win both competitions.
SFGG: @ Sacramento Lions

San jose Seahawks are coming off a disappointing game against Santa rosa, a team they battled for 1st last year. This week they travel to take on Marin. Can the Seahawks get back in the W column and stay strong.
San Jose: @ Marin

Olympic Club forfeited there first two games manly out of protest for having OPSB in the competition this year. With negative points they will have to win outright all their matches and score a couple bonus points.
